Choose your setup
The three questions Dansly asks when you create a school, what each answer changes, and which setup path to follow next.
For owners
Creating a school takes three short questions. Nothing is public until you go live, and every answer can be changed later.
1. What should we call your school?#
Your name, your city, and the styles you teach. Pick at least one style: you can't go live without one. The country is fixed to the Netherlands: Dansly is only available there for now. Accept the terms and continue. Your join code is made now. You can change it until you go live.
2. How do people dance with you?#
| Answer | Means | Follow |
|---|---|---|
| Courses | Fixed blocks of weeks. Same group, paid up front. | Set up a course school |
| Open classes | Turn up when you like, paid per class or in credits. | Set up an open-class school |
| Both | Course blocks running alongside a weekly open schedule. | Set up a mixed school |
Choosing Open classes switches courses off, which also hides Catch-ups. You can turn courses on later from the School page.
3. When someone can't make it, what happens?#
Two halves, and each takes yes, no or Not sure yet:
- Fill-in, "Someone else takes the empty spot": the freed place is offered to another dancer of that role, so the class still starts balanced.
- Catch-up, "They make the class up elsewhere": a course dancer joins another group at their level, so they don't fall behind. This half only matters if you run courses.
| Answer | Starts | On the go-live checklist |
|---|---|---|
| Yes | Switched on | Yes: review the rules before going live |
| Not sure yet | Switched off | Yes: decide before going live |
| No | Switched off | No |
Skipping#
Every question after the first can be skipped. A skipped question stays on your go-live checklist until you answer it there. Skipping a question you had already answered takes that answer back.
After the questions#
Show me what's left opens Go live, the checklist of what's left. It stays at the top of the sidebar until nothing blocks going live. Your school is a draft: build at your own pace; nothing is public until the owner chooses Go live.
To change an answer, choose Change your answers under From your answers on the Go live page.
